STOCK ROOM: CHINA OBSCURA - Inspired in MiFA gallery Melbourne

MiFA gallery definitely is one of my favorite galleries in Melbourne.

The exhibition - STOCK ROOM: CHINA OBSCURA - showed plenty of contemporary artworks which relates to the Chinese theme. Of course I was preoccupied by Yang, yongliang's landscape "paintings", but there are some other artists' works also have strong visual stimulations.

Quentin Shin (時曉凡)'s Citizen of The State series has a strong concept about the scenario based upon the place at hospital, where dominates people's lives and deaths. The images are very powerful, and can fully depict the hopeless and helpless when people are dying.

Hu Ming's sarcastic painting also caught my attention too. Sometime I think her works have some kinds of erotic element beneath the canvas. She "americanises" her paintings which contrast the imagery of Chinese cultural revolution, making her works look more subtle, and in my opinion it just works succinctly.

I was also intrigued the back of the gallery... too .. lol
