I used to be a photojournalist. After studying in New Zealand, my point of view of photography has changed. And I am sure cannot use photography as a "paraphernalia". In order words, I don't want to use my hobby to make a living. Did I lose my interest in photography? I would say no, I didn't. I still passion about photography, but in a different way. I tend not to look for the beautiful scenes to photograph, or taking photographs for the clients, but try to take photographs of within.
I think Pete Eckert is a typical example of "taking photographs of within". He had Retinitis Pigmentosa, lost his vision in 1983. When I first hear about the Blind Photographer, I was like most of the people, questioning how could a blind person take a photograph without seeing it. I am amazed to know that the blind photographers can utilise sound to shape the reality, and generate an image within their mind, then make photographs...
