I've seem Cui Xiuwen's in a book while studying New Zealand. Eventually I have a chance to look at her works. In the series of Existential Emptiness, a girl always holding a puppet is the main symbols in her photographs.

The puppet wearing with the same hair-style is implying it is a reflection of girl. Cui uses the semiotics in a smart way to portray the conflict within the little girl, very autistic..
