I know it is a bit unusual to travel the Montparnasse Cemetery. But when you know the renowned photographers Brassaï and Man Ray, as well as the author of Simulacra and Simulation - Jean Baudrillard, plus bunch of others famous artists, dancers, singers, philosophers and etc.... were buried in this cemetery, will you travel there? Obviously my answer is yes. And I went to the grave of Man Ray and his lover.
It is because I read some of his biographies and watch the documentary DVD, so I am little more familiar with his life and works than others. Honestly, he is one of the most talented artists during the post-modern age. Not many people know that his also used sculpture, painting and movie as the medium to produce works of art.
Before I took these photos, I told Man Ray with respect if he doesn't want to see this picture on the Internet or have a picture with me, just let me know in the dream. Eventually, Man Ray doesn't mind. haha.
