Documentary photographer: Mr. Wong Kan Tai |
This is my first to attend an artist talk in Hong Kong since I've come back. Mr. Wong Kan Tai's (黃勤帶) latest book 《1989廣場的日子》(sorry for lack of English book name) collects loads of documentary photographs that he took at the Tiananmen square in Beijing during democracy protests period in 1989. With a photojournalist background, Mr. Wong took these photographs wasn't on assignment, though, he was driven by his pure intuitive, then bought a flight ticket, flew over there and shot at the location. Simple as that!
After the talk, I had a chat with some amazing artists too. It's great to attend these activities and I wish to have more.
