We love average, but sometime we love "the most". Being the most popular, the most beautiful and the most outstanding. What if we change the wording to being the most typical? does that mean average? Similar to David Troop's idea of "average face", National Geographic produces a project call "7 Billion" and one of its section is The Face of 7 Billion which also layer lots of portraits to make one image. But why the most typical person in the world is formed like this? Well, it is based on the following facts from their research:

  • The world most typical person is male
  • The median age of the world population is 28
  • The largest ethnic group is Han Chinese
The image is combined with 190,000 photos, and it is so convincing that they use the facts to produce such an amazing composited image with the statistic and anthropological meanings beneath it.
