Fringe is one of my favorite TV series that I eager to watch every single episode.
I haven't finished the season 3 yet but the new season will be broadcasted tonight.
The reason I like Fringe is that the scriptwriters (J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci) always use their imaginations to push our ready-known science beyond its boundaries, creating plenty of rooms for us to imagine our own story lines.
In the series, it always talks about the other side / world which is generated when we made decision with lots of convincing theories such as the Many-worlds interpretation. When do we make decision? As we all know when we are at the decisive point, estimating what if I do this or not to do this, we are in a way predicting our possible futures with:
our own imagination (If will be the next chief executive in Hong Kong, I will bla bla bla...),
our desire (what if I have two extra girlfriends from Norway and Japan?),
our creativity (composing a song and edit until it's prefect.)
our dream (sometime deja vu, foreseeing a possible future)
Base on this theory, we will generate zillion different worlds as long as we think...
Well everyday we make different decisions, we think different things, and I guess the success of this TV series is letting us to imagine, to think and to create a better world with our good judgement.
