My curiosity drove me to buy a new photography magazine, which has a top slogan, "Keep Snap & Carry On - The Mobile Photo Album". It seems that the magazine should be an interesting topic but in fact I feel a bit disappointed. First of all, the packaging doesn't match with the publication itself. Can't imagine a publication with a nice and clear design is put in a clunky box. If this magazine is classified as a fine art magazine then it shouldn't be using such packing. Secondly, supplement is usually coming with the gossip or trendy magazine. If this is considered as a fine art magazine, it shouldn't have any gift as a supplement, especially a gift like Mickey and Minnie Mice earphone jack dust cover. A trend gift along with an art magazine creates a discrepancy. Have a look at the photography in this magazine, its intention, I guess, is trying to promote photographs, which are taken by using mobile phone, and I mobile photography is a fine art. If it is or try to be an art magazine, why put the Mickey and Minnie mice earphone jack dust cover as a gift, but not something or some items it could enhance our photographic live? This typical case shows its marketing team isn't really think about the relation between the gift and publication. Moreover, when you flip the magazine, you will find every individual photography is awesome, but not any more when they all are sat together. Disappointment has been further developed at this moment because the entire thing was not well compiled. Technically it is a publication but theoretically it is not a compilation. As if each image is just satiric to sit next the others, really don't have the connection collectively.
Right now, I talk to myself, " what do you want from this?" "Why so serious about this?"
Well, I guess the answer is I'm still in love with photography!
