PICASSO – Masterpieces from Musée National Picasso, Paris

Last year I went to Paris, intended to go to Musée National Picasso to admire a master artist - Picasso who is born in a hundred year before my birthday (Picasso and I are bore in the same month and day). It was unfortunate the museum had been being renovated until Summer 2013.

This year, Hong Kong has the privilege to host a master exhibition - "PICASSO Masterpieces from Musée National Picasso" in the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. This Exhibition covers different periods of time in Picasso's life. It is not merely showing his artworks from Primitivism to Surrealism, it also demonstrates some of his other art pieces such as sculptures and photographs. In which, there are two highlighted paintings reflecting other Master artists. "Portrait of Dora Maar, 1937" pay tribute to Van Gogh and "Luncheon on the grass after Manet, 1960" gives a radical interpretation to Eduard Manet's "Luncheon on the Grass, 1862-63" which subvert the idea of classic to a new perspective.
