Daido Moriyama's Exhibition - REFLECTION AND REFRACTION

One of the famous Japanese photographers Daido Moryama (森山大道) who has an huge exhibition at ArtisTree.  There are loads of Daido's photographs with a typical Japanese style. You might ask, what are the elements to be contained? Well I would say, the photograph has to be directive, frank, high contrast added a feel of fatal, non-distortive and little bit doom and gloom. Maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps I should say Daido is one of the Japanese photographers who created this typical style. By looking at his works, you would feel his was trying to blur the line between the past and present; real and surreal; unintentional and deliberative, and I think that is the reason why the curator (Hisako Motoo 本尾久子) named  this exhibition as Reflection and Refraction. It is a perfect name.
