Mr. Lau's works mainly focus on the "root". Not about the botany but our race, Chinese of course. He spent time (the last three years) to dig out who Cubans have the Chinese blood and record the stories of the dwindling Chinese community in Havana, which is incredible. High level research skill is needed. Communication is another key to this project's success, which is another difficulty when producing this project for sure. Strong interpersonal skill is necessary. Further more, He has a generous heart to assist one of the subjects - Caridad Amaran (image above) to go back to 'hometown' in Guangdong China and worship her parents. There is a dramatic fact in this store. None of her blood has a drip of Chinese gene, however her was adopted by her Chinese parents when she was young. This lady Chinese name is Ho Chou Lan - 何秋蘭, and she can speak Cantonese fluently limited writing, yet she has an amazing ability to sing Cantonese Opera. This is an extraordinary case which support the photographs with a deeper layer.
