Oritsunagumono - Takayuki Hori

Oritsunagumono means "thins folded and connected", which is a set of origami works made by Takayuki Hori. The first thing came to mine was the X-ray of cartoon characters that I saw 5-6 years ago. Because we always see the surface of an object, and in truth we are not able to look inside the flesh unless using the radiography. So it is interesting to see the characters skeletons in order to associate the fictional to realism. Some theory here, Takayuki prepared the images of the skeleton and printed on a translucent sheet. Then folded and made an origami for the sake of expressing the idea of conservation. When you look at an origami with skeleton inside, the origami itself becomes alive. As if, it is too fragile and need to be protected. This idea... I just like it...!!
